Who is TAREK?
Tarek Waked is a Lebanese designer and interior architect whose work fuses historical reference with contemporary clarity to create quietly enduring spaces. Each project is treated as a narrative—an honest reflection of the client—shaped by rigorous proportion and exacting craft..
Drawing on the grandeur of palaces and historic sites, he composes intimate, layered interiors where noble materials—stone, timber, metal, linen—are allowed to speak. Eclectic yet disciplined, his approach balances restraint and warmth, elevating daily rituals through precise detailing and considered light—a restrained glamour that invites touch.
Tarek has led projects across Qatar, France, Monaco, and Italy, informed by time spent in design capitals from Paris and London to New York. He steers them from concept to completion in close collaboration with local artisans and specialized makers. This cultural range gives him a broad, nuanced perspective—one that lets the client’s personality set the tone while the architecture provides a clear, enduring framework. Tarek’s signature extends beyond blueprints. He is known for merging mediums—architecture, objects, and image—bringing precision and sensuality to every detail.
He holds a Master’s in Sustainable Architecture from KU Leuven (Belgium). In parallel, he founded Tally Marks, an accessories label that extends his architectural language to the body—modular leather pieces and 925-silver forms crafted by Italian and Lebanese artisans. Outside the studio, Tarek works with analog collage and frequents markets and workshops across the world, continually gathering materials, textures, and rhythms that inform the next project.
